Instagram is rolling out Teen Accounts in India to make the platform safer for younger users. This update introduces stricter privacy controls, limited interactions, and enhanced parental supervision to protect teenagers from online risks.

🛡️ What’s Changing?


✅ Private Accounts by Default – New users under 18 and existing users under 16 will have private profiles. 🔐


✅ Restricted Messaging & Mentions – Teens can only message approved contacts, and offensive words will be filtered out. 🚫💬

✅ Content Limitations – No ads related to cosmetic procedures or physical fights in Explore or Reels. 📵



✅ Screen Time Control – After 60 minutes, Instagram will prompt teens to take a break, and Sleep Mode activates from 10 PM to 7 AM. ⏳🌙


✅ Improved Age Verification – Instagram will use ID checks and video selfies to verify users’ real ages. 📸


👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Better Parental Controls


👀 Parents can now see who their teens messaged (but not message content).


⏳ Set daily time limits and block access after a set time.
