1047 Games has stated that Splitgate 2 will massively expand on the original vision and scale of the series.

The open alpha will showcase a map 20 times larger than anything seen in the game's predecessor. Details about the upcoming title are gradually being revealed, including the return of the fun portal-jumping mechanic and the introduction of three Splitgate 2 factions: Aeros, Meridian, and Sabrask.

These factions are essentially player classes, each with unique powers and equipment that will influence playing styles and tactics.

Splitgate 2 has built a sizable fanbase following the success of the first game. At its peak, Splitgate had over two million active players, and many fans will be eagerly anticipating the release of the second installment.

The call by the developer to stop work on the original and focus on creating a supercharged sequel has only heightened expectations.
