Rare Rabbit, an Indian direct-to-consumer (D2C) fashion brand, has recently secured a significant investment of $5.7 million. This funding round was led by prominent investors including A91 Partners, Gruhas, and the family office of Ravi Modi, founder of Vedant Fashions, which operates the ethnic wear brand Manyavar. 

Established in 2015 by the husband-wife duo Manish and Akshika Poddar under the umbrella of Radhamani Textiles, Rare Rabbit has rapidly evolved from its origins as an apparel manufacturer focused on export markets to a distinguished fashion label in India. The brand offers a diverse range of men's apparel, including shirts, jeans, jackets, and sneakers, catering to the modern man's fashion sensibilities. 

The infusion of $5.7 million marks Rare Rabbit's inaugural external funding endeavor. Prior to this, the company had been bootstrapped, achieving impressive financial milestones independently. In the fiscal year 2023-2024, Rare Rabbit reported operating revenue of ₹637 crore (approximately $75.76 million), reflecting a remarkable 69% increase from the previous year. Net profits more than doubled, reaching ₹75 crore (around $8.92 million) compared to ₹32 crore in FY23. 

The brand's growth trajectory is further evidenced by its expansive retail footprint. Rare Rabbit operates over 150 stores across India, penetrating not only metropolitan hubs like Delhi, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Chennai but also tier-II and tier-III cities such as Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Dehradun, Ranchi, Guwahati, and Vijayawada. This strategic expansion underscores the brand's commitment to making premium fashion accessible to a broader audience. 

The recent capital injection is poised to accelerate Rare Rabbit's growth plans, enabling the brand to enhance its product offerings, bolster marketing initiatives, and further expand its retail presence.
