Giant snake unearthed:

scientist of India unearthed fossils of vasuki, a prihistoric measuring up to 50 feet, amont the largest ever discovered.


Named after mythology:

The snake name vasuki indicus after mighty vasuki indicus, after the mighty serpent vasuki from hindu mythology, which coils around lord shiva's neck.


Fossils found in gujarat:

Researchers at IIT Roorkee Discovered 27 fossilized vertebrae in gujarat's coal mines, initialy mistaking them for crocodile remains,

A true giants:

With an estimated leangth 36 to 50 feet, vasuki indicus rivaled Titanoboa, the largest known snake, and may have weighed around 2200 pounds.

Climate Shaped its growth:

This ancient snake thirved in warm temparetures around 28 degree C, which healped it grow to enormous sizes, much like modern cold-blooded reptiles.


An ambush prediator:

 vasuki indicus likely used constriction to capture prey, similar to modern python, thriving in an ecosystem with fish, turtel, and early whales.


A unique species:

it belonged to the madtsoiidae family, liniage of massivesnake spanning 100 million years across India, africa and Europe.

Shedding light of evolution:

 The discovery challenges previous ideas about snake evolution, proving that ancient serpents diversified and adapted uniquely in different regions.
