It's a motherboard where memory takes the primary spot. The AORUS TACHYON is a special series among Gigabyte's motherboard lineup, dedicated to extreme overclocking (and extreme pricing).

The latest TACHYON is also called ICE, which means it comes in an all-white color scheme. And unlike other brands like ASUS or MSI, Gigabyte has actually done the work to make interfaces in non-black colors, so it looks a lot better in my opinion.

In any case, the first thing you will notice on the TACHYON Z890 is that the CPU socket is rotated. The DDR5 memory slots are on top, and there are only two.

This is a common setup among OC-boards, given that no respected overclocker would use more than two to achieve the highest performance. In this case, Gigabyte is claiming an OC record of 12,726 MT/s on V-Color memory with the "LN2 Switch."
