Double Eleven has offered players a glimpse of Rust: Console Edition’s major upgrade for next-gen consoles, showcasing in-game footage. Console players of the popular multiplayer survival game should be excited, as Rust’s new version will feature stunning visuals that mark a significant improvement over the PS4 and Xbox One versions.
In a 36-second video, Double Eleven teased Rust: Console Edition players with real in-game footage showcasing the stunning visuals coming in the next-gen upgrade.
The video begins with footage from the PS4 and Xbox One versions before quickly transitioning to the upgraded game, showing off a sunset with a player on the water. In comparison to the 2021 version, the teaser showcases far better environmental features, such as the floor, water, lighting, and textures.
Additionally, capabilities that were unavailable on earlier hardware will be unlocked by the updated version, though it remains unclear whether the upgrade will be free or if players will need to purchase it.
Double Eleven hasn’t revealed too much, only confirming that this new version is still in development and will be available on “the latest consoles” (PS5 and Xbox Series S/X), while advising players to keep an eye on the game’s social media channels for updates.
Fans’ reactions to the teaser reflect Rust’s enduring popularity, with many expressing excitement over the announcement and praising the improved visuals.
