Qualcomm to Unveil 2nm Snapdragon Chips Next Year

Qualcomm is reportedly preparing to introduce its first 2-nanometer (nm) Snapdragon chipsets in 2026, marking a significant advancement in mobile processor technology. According to sources, the company plans to release two System-on-Chips (SoCs) based on the 2nm process:


- SM8950

Expected to be the successor to the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2, this flagship processor is anticipated to power premium smartphones.

- SM8945

Likely a less powerful variant, potentially featuring underclocked components or a reduced GPU, aimed at mid-range devices.

These developments suggest Qualcomm's commitment to enhancing performance and energy efficiency in its future chipsets. The transition to a 2nm process is expected to deliver significant improvements in processing power and battery life for mobile devices. 


In related news, Apple is also rumored to debut its A20 chipset, based on a 2nm node, in 2026, potentially powering the iPhone 18 series. This move indicates a broader industry shift towards more advanced semiconductor manufacturing processes.
