Apart from ration card, driving license and Aadhar card, it is mandatory for the citizens of India to have many other documents, these include PAN card and Aadhar card. The Central Government has also made it clear that if someone’s PAN card is not linked to Aadhaar, then it will not be valid.

Apart from this, the government has also fixed the deadline for linking PAN with Aadhaar, which is 31 December 2025, in such a situation, if a person does not link Aadhaar with PAN, then his PAN card will be declared inactive. For those who used Aadhaar enrolment ID while applying for PAN card on or before 1 October 2024, the deadline is not 30 June 2023. These people have been given the facility to link Aadhaar-PAN till 31 December 2025. A fine of Rs 1,000 has to be paid for linking PAN-Aadhaar after the deadline. The CBDT notification has given a deadline of 31 December 2025, but there is no mention of the penalty to be imposed from 01.01.2026.
