Hey iQOO Fam!
There's a new visual upgrade that's making waves in the Android ecosystem — and if you're someone who loves snapping photos on your iQOO device, this is HUGE! Google Photos has started rolling out Ultra HDR support, and it's about to change how your photos look, feel, and are shared forever.
Let's break it down 👇
Think of Ultra HDR as an evolution of normal HDR. While regular HDR balances light and dark areas in your photo, Ultra HDR adds another layer of realism and vibrance. It introduces a new technology called an HDR gain map — which basically stores extra brightness and contrast info inside a JPEG photo without changing its format.
In short: Ultra HDR lets your photos look exactly how you saw them with your eyes — and no, this isn't a filter. It's all native rendering, and it's smart.
This feature is now being enabled inside Google Photos for phones running Android 14 and above. That means if your phone supports HDR10 or HDR10+, you may already be seeing the difference in your image previews inside Google Photos.
What's more exciting is that you don't need to do anything — just open your Google Photos app, view one of your HDR images, and you might notice that extra pop in color and depth 🌟
Ultra HDR cleverly embeds HDR information inside a normal JPEG file using an HDR gain map. Here's the cool part:
It's smart, seamless, and efficient. Just how we like it. 💯
If you're into mobile photography, especially using iQOO’s advanced camera modes like Pro Mode, Night Mode, or AI Scene Recognition, this update is made for you. Until now, even the most stunning HDR shots would sometimes lose their brilliance when backed up or viewed in Google Photos. But now?
This means your iQOO photography gets the spotlight it deserves — not just on your device, but also in the cloud, across platforms.
Let's be honest — we all take tons of photos on our phones. But the true challenge is preserving the magic when we back them up, post them, or share with others. Ultra HDR solves that with:
Whether it's Diwali lights, a sunset on your rooftop, or a close-up of your pet with perfect lighting — Ultra HDR will bring out the best in every frame.
