Vaibhav Suryavanshi scored the fastest century by an Indian player in the Indian Premier League (IPL) history as he touched the three-figure mark in 35 deliveries against the Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Sawai Mansingh International Stadium in Jaipur on Monday.

Suryavanshi notched seven fours and 11 maximums, bringing up his ton with a maximum against leg-spinner Rashid Khan over deep square leg in the 11th over. The southpaw hammered 30 runs off Karim Janat's over, thanks to three sixes and fours each.

In an exemplary display of shot-making, Suryavanshi took the seasoned GT bowlers to the cleaners, clearing his front leg and using several horizontal batted to clear the ropes with utmost ease.

As the bowlers looked to shake up their lines, bowling him wider yorkers to unsettle his rhythm, the batter unlocked his hitting zones on the off side to churn several fours
