The Epic Games Store is launching a massive May the 4th celebration sale, with a dozen different Star Wars games, bundles, and expansions up for grabs for up to 85 percent off their regular prices. Fans of Star Wars might want to keep an eye on the sale, as Epic Games has teased another special offer that is yet to be fulfilled.

The origins of Star Wars Day, unofficially celebrated annually on May 4 due to the quasi-homophone-based slogan "May the Fourth be with you," traces its origins back to 1979, when the phrase was first documented nearly two years after the original theatrical release of Star Wars Episode 4: A New Hope. The first record of an organized celebratory event took place in Canada in 2011, and it has grown into a worldwide phenomenon.
