Information 

A recent leak from tipster Digital Chat Station has revealed the launch timeframe of Qualcomm’s upcoming flagship, the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 . As the name suggests, it will succeed the original Snapdragon 8 Elite chip that was officially launched in October last year. Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 launch timeframe ( Expected )

According to the tipster, Qualcomm will announce the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 at the end of September this year. He added that the first devices featuring the new chip will launch in October. This move is seen as Qualcomm’s direct challenge to Apple’s upcoming iPhone 17 series, which is expected to make its appearance in September.

Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 specifications ( Rumored ) 

According to reports, the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chipset will come with significant performance upgrades compared to its predecessor. The CPU is expected to run at a base frequency of 4.4GHz, slightly higher than the 4.32GHz of the previous model. Additionally, this new chip features a second-generation self-developed CPU architecture, with the GPU’s dedicated cache increasing from 12MB to 16MB, resulting in a 30% overall performance boost.

Conclusion 

In terms of manufacturing, the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 uses TSMC’s third-generation 3nm process. This provides a 4% performance boost while reducing power consumption by 9% compared to the previous generation, without altering the clock speeds. The chip also integrates the new SME instruction set, a part of the Arm64 architecture, which is designed to enhance multimedia and graphics processing capabilities, making it more efficient in handling these tasks.
