Star Rail are hinting at the in-game abilities for upcoming Fate/Stay Night collab character Archer, teasing him as a damage-focused character. The HoYoverse sci-fi RPG finally gave fans more details about the long-awaited collaboration with the popular multimedia franchise late last week, confirming two playable characters are on the way. Both Saber and Archer will be making their debut on July 11, with players even able to pick up Archer as a free reward within the game. Early information is now giving an idea of how Archer will play following his release.
As part of the newest reveals for Honkai: Star Rail's crossover with Fate/Stay Night, HoYoverse teased the Elements and Paths for its two playable characters. Saber will make her debut within Honkai: Star Rail's roster as a Wind Destruction character, likely alluding to Saber's in-universe use of wind to mask her Noble Phantasm. Archer will join Star Rail's roster as a Quantum Hunt character, notably being the first male character in the Quantum Element. Now, Archer is looking to fit in well as a lead for Quantum teams following his debut.
A recent leak shared by prominent HoYoverse leaker Luna is hinting at Archer's gameplay style in Honkai: Star Rail. According to the leak, Archer is expected to function as a Quantum DPS unit within Honkai: Star Rail, focused around using Skill Points to boost the damage of his attacks. The leak does not give any specifics about Archer's attacks or abilities within Honkai: Star Rail, with the reveal trailer only giving a teaser of Saber's Ultimate. Archer and Saber are both set to make their playable debut within Honkai: Star Rail on July 11.
Archer's rumored gameplay within Honkai: Star Rail looks to make him a perfect fit with many pre-existing Star Rail characters. The leak suggests that Archer will pair well with Version 2.0 five-star character Sparkle , with the Quantum support granting more Skill Points and increasing the cap. Many traditional "hypercarry"-focused supports are also expected to be a solid choice to pair alongside Archer, including Bronya, Ruan Mei, and Tingyun among others.
While fans wait for the arrival of the Fate/Stay Night collaboration, Honkai: Star Rail looks to have plenty on the way in the meantime. The ongoing Version 3.2 recently welcomed its second half switch, with Wind Erudition character Anaxa now available through the limited gacha banner. HoYoverse has also already confirmed the two playable characters coming during the Version 3.3 update, with both Hyacine and Cipher set to join the playable roster during the patch. Honkai: Star Rail fans have lots to be excited for between a multitude of characters and the long-awaited Fate/Stay Night crossover.
