Major gaming feature missing...

I'm currently using IQOO 13 and it's quite disappointing to find that this device is missing support for LHDC audio codec.

As far as I know IQOO is a brand known for it's gaming yet budget friendly devices and from the perspective of a gaming device a feature such as LHDC plays a major role in optimising bluetooth headset's latency while gaming.

So it makes me wonder how come such an important codec is missing from a gaming device.

Now let's come to the point where IQOO also takes in account the price factor. However Iqoo 13 is their flagship device so cost cutting a feature on the software level is kind of a low for IQOO.

Kindly provide support for LHDC via OTA because the hardwares supports it and only needs to be unlocked at software level. Even ONEPLUS rolled out LHDC later via OTA.

This is what chatgpt has to say when I went to research a bit

Yes, the iQO0 13 supports both LDAC and LHDC 5.0 Bluetooth audio codecs, along with aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, and aptX Lossless.

However, some users have reported issues with LDAC stability and LHDC functionality. LHDC may not be available in the Bluetooth settings, defaulting to AAC even when using LHDC-compatible earbuds.

These issues might be due to software limitations or bugs in Funtouch OS. While the hardware supports these codecs, the software implementation may not be fully optimized. It's advisable to check for software updates or consult iQOO for potential fixes.
