Hey Questers,

With this thread, I am starting a new series, Anime Suggestion Series, where I will be sharing some animes from my watchlist that you should try.

Do give the animes from this series a watch, and let me know if you liked it.

Starting off with my first anime, Attack On Titan or Shingeki No Kyojin

Before I watched Attack on Titan, I wasn't sure if anime was for me. I had heard about the genre through friends and seen clips online, but I never sat down to watch a full series. That all changed when I hit "play" on the first episode of Attack on Titan. What followed was an intense, unforgettable journey that not only blew my mind—it opened the door to a whole new world of storytelling.

Here's why Attack on Titan was the perfect gateway anime and why you need to experience it.

An Atmosphere That Grabs You From the First Minute

  • From the very first scene, Attack on Titan doesn't tiptoe into its world—it throws you in headfirst. The atmosphere is dark, tense, and filled with a sense of unease that kept me glued to the screen.
  • The setting is unlike anything I had seen before: walled cities, monstrous threats, and a constant fight for survival.
  • There's no filler here; every moment feels important. Even without knowing the full scope of the story, I was hooked—fully immersed in a world that felt grim but gripping.

The Animation and Soundtrack Are Pure Art

  • The animation quality stunned me. Every movement feels weighty and real, especially during the action scenes, which are some of the most exhilarating I've ever watched in any show—anime or otherwise.
  • The way characters zip through the air using their gear, the choreography, and the raw intensity of each fight scene—it's all a visual masterpiece. And don't even get me started on the soundtrack.
  • Epic orchestral themes, haunting choral pieces, and high-octane battle music—every track amplifies the emotions and tension perfectly. It's the kind of score that gives you goosebumps.

Characters That Feel Real and Evolve With You

  • What surprised me most was how much I cared about the characters. As someone new to anime, I was expecting over-the-top personalities or clichés.
  • What I got were deeply human characters who struggle with fear, loss, purpose, and morality. Their development feels natural, their decisions impactful.
  • Watching them grow—and sometimes break—made me emotionally invested in their journey. The series doesn't shy away from difficult questions or dark paths, but that's what makes it so compelling.
  • It's storytelling that respects your intelligence and hits you right in the soul.

Where to Watch and the Correct Watching Order

If you're ready to dive into Attack on Titan, here's the spoiler-free, chronological order to watch it in:

  1. Attack on Titan (Season 1)
  2. Attack on Titan: Season 2
  3. Attack on Titan: Season 3 – Part 1
  4. Attack on Titan: Season 3 – Part 2
  5. Attack on Titan: Final Season – Part 1
  6. Attack on Titan: Final Season – Part 2
  7. Attack on Titan: Final Season – The Final Chapters (Part 1 & Part 2)

✅ Optional OVAs (like "No Regrets" or "Lost Girls") can be watched after Season 3 for extra context, but they're not essential.

Where to Watch

You can stream the entire series on:

  • Crunchyroll – Simulcasts and subs.
  • Netflix – Selected regions.
  • Hulu – Full catalog (US).
  • Prime Video – Seasons may vary by region.
  • Disney+ Hotstar – Available in some countries (dubbed/subbed).

Choose the platform that's available in your region and get ready for one of the wildest rides anime has to offer.

If Attack on Titan ends up being your first anime too, I can promise you—it's only the beginning.

Let me know if you'd like some post-AOT anime recommendations to keep the momentum going!
