Tekken 8 revealed that Muay Thai fighter Fahkumram would arrive alongside Patch 2.03 on July 7 for Character Pass owners, with a full release on July 10. Additionally, Tekken 8 shared a preview of its Fall 2025 DLC character, Armor King, who will return to the ring in the coming months.
The announcement of Fahkumram's release and the return of Armor King came at a tumultuous time for Tekken 8. After the launch of the critically panned Tekken 8 Season 2 update, Bandai Namco released several emergency patches as part of a damage control effort. In early May, Tekken executive producer Katsuhiro Harada apologized for the game's state and said that Tekken 8 had since reverted to the original balance team due to the overwhelming backlash from players. Tekken 8's balance team is now led by Kohei "Nakatsu" Ikeda, the game balance director of Tekken Tag Tournament 2 and Tekken 7.
With Nakatsu back in charge, Tekken 8 gave fans a look at what to expect throughout the summer and fall. A new trailer that showed Fahkumram in action was revealed during the Combo Breaker fighting game tournament finals. The lightning-charged Muay Thai kickboxer will arrive with Tekken 8's Patch 2.03 on Monday, July 7, in early access for users who own the Season 2 Character Pass. Fahkumram's official release as a standalone character is slated for Thursday, July 10. As a traditional Muay Thai fighter, Fahkumram utilizes elbow and knee strikes alongside kicks, punches, and lightning bolts to overwhelm his foe. After being forced to fight in the King of Iron Fist tournament during Tekken 7's Fated Retribution DLC, the next chapter of Fahkumram's tragic tale will be told via a new Tekken 8 story update in Patch 2.03.
Fahkumram will have three additional costume options for players to peruse. At the end of the Fahkumram gameplay trailer, Bandai Namco confirmed that the masked professional wrestler Armor King will return as the Fall 2025 DLC Character. Like Fahkumram, Armor King will reprise his role from Tekken 7, though it remains to be seen how the story of the mysterious tiger-masked wrestler will play out.
As part of its effort to recover from Season 2's disastrous release, Tekken 8 will continue to release game balance updates and address player concerns. Only time will tell how Fahkumram and Armor King will shake up the game's competitive scene.
