India delivered a stellar performance at the 26th Asian Athletics Championships 2025, held in Gumi, South Korea, marking one of its most successful outings in the competition's history. By the end of Day 3, the Indian contingent had amassed a total of 14 medals, comprising 5 gold, 6 silver, and 3 bronze, positioning the nation second in the overall standings, just behind China.

🥇 Gold Medal Triumphs

1. Avinash Sable – Men's 3000m Steeplechase

Avinash Sable ended India's 36-year wait for a gold medal in the men's 3000m steeplechase, clocking a season-best time of 8:20.92. His victory not only secured a top podium finish but also highlighted India's growing prowess in distance running.

2. Jyothi Yarraji – Women's 100m Hurdles

Jyothi Yarraji clinched gold in the women's 100m hurdles, showcasing her dominance in the event. Her performance underscored India's strength in sprint hurdles on the Asian stage.

3. Women's 4x400m Relay Team

The quartet of Jisna Mathew, Rupal Chaudhary, Rajitha Kunja, and Subha Venkatesan secured gold in the women's 4x400m relay with a season-best time of 3:34.18, ending a 12-year gold medal drought in this event for India. 

4. Mixed 4x400m Relay Team

India's mixed 4x400m relay team defended their title successfully, clinching gold despite challenging wet and windy conditions. Notably, Rupal Chaudhary contributed significantly, also earning an individual silver in the women's 400m. 

5. Gulveer Singh – Men's 10,000m

Gulveer Singh opened India's gold medal tally by winning the men's 10,000m race with a time of 28:38.63, demonstrating exceptional endurance and race strategy.
