Released on September 6, 2024, Astro Bot brought a platforming experience that resonated with many PlayStation fans. As its many awards showed, most players loved the different aspects of the game, including the new abilities for the titular character. These abilities often included robotic animal companions and made use of the DualSense controller's capabilities. Following the successful launch, Team Asobi has released several sets of additional levels for players to check out, with some featuring time trials.

In addition, several more bots will be able to be rescued from the challenge levels, but the developer was tight-lipped as to who they might be. Given the charm that other special bots in Astro Bot have featured, they will likely be worth checking out.

These new free levels are doubtlessly exciting for Astro Bot fans, as it means the game is continuing to get new content over half a year since its release. In addition to the fresh in-game content, an updated version of the Astro Bot Limited Edition DualSense wireless controller is coming sometime in 2025. This controller features the design of the iconic robot from the original Astro Bot controller and has a "new joyful twist to the touch pad.
