Krafton India recently partnered with Reliance Jio to launch the country’s first-ever gaming-specific telecom bundle. Speaking to Moneycontrol, Seddharth Merrotra, Head of Business Development at Krafton India, explained how this collaboration is a strategic leap toward building a more inclusive and immersive gaming ecosystem.

“The core vision,” he said, “was to democratise access to immersive, high-quality gaming for every Indian.” With mobile-first gaming at the heart of India’s digital entertainment boom, the Jio x Krafton bundle is designed to lower entry barriers and boost engagement by offering seamless access to 5G-powered connectivity and exclusive BGMI content.

The bundle brings content, connectivity, and convenience into a single recharge. Subscribers not only receive unlimited data and voice services via Jio’s ultra-low latency 5G network but also gain access to exclusive in-game rewards and cloud gaming capabilities. “It’s not just about playing; it’s about immersing in a dynamic, responsive gaming world,” Merrotra added.

The bundle is tailored for next-gen gamers who demand speed, personalisation, and tangible rewards, as per the company executive. By removing traditional hurdles like high device costs or expensive downloads, the plan makes premium gaming more accessible to the wider youth demographic. “This isn’t just a product,” Merrotra emphasised. “It’s a statement of our long-term commitment to India’s gaming community.”

He also touched upon gaming’s growing relevance as a platform for cross-industry collaboration. With India’s gaming market projected to reach $7.5 billion by FY28, the medium has evolved into a powerful cultural and commercial channel.

“Our partnerships must enhance gameplay and offer real utility to the player,” said Merrotra. This philosophy is central to long-term efforts, such as integrating exclusive BGMI content or crafting culturally resonant experiences.

Looking ahead, Krafton India plans to deepen its support for the local gaming ecosystem. Its Krafton India Gaming Incubator (KIGI) now backs 10 Indian gaming startups with funding, tools, and mentorship. Following its investment in Nautilus and over $200 million in the Indian startup space, Krafton is doubling down on innovation across sectors including entertainment, education, automotive, and lifestyle. “Our goal,” Merrotra concluded, “is to co-create a thriving, inclusive ecosystem that delivers long-term value—for players, partners, and India’s broader digital economy.”
