MediaTek has officially launched its new 5G chipset, Dimensity 8450 at India's Dimensity Summit. It brings significant upgrades in powerful processor performance, AI abilities, imaging, gaming and connectivity. 

The new chip is designed for high-ended smartphones and is designed using all large core CPU architecture. This includes eight ARM cortex-e725 core and a Mali-G720 MC7 GPU, which reaches 30% better performance and power efficiency, according to MediaTek. It is built on an advanced 4Nm processor, which helps to protect the battery while keeping things fast.

A large focus of 8450 is AI (artificial intelligence). It includes NPU 880 and agent AI engines, designed to handle the latest AI features. These advanced functions such as generative AI and large language models such as which powers AI tools and assistants are similar.

For content creators and streamters, chipset introduces a new dual EIS engine for smooth and clear 4K video recording on 60fps with HDR support. MediaTek also added a live broadcast booster that accelerates the face during livestream using 7% less power than earlier methods.

In terms of photography, IMAGIQ 1080 ISP enables support for 320MP cameras and provides features such as in-sensor zoom and zero-lag HDR. It also supports 100% PDAF (phase detection auto focus), which helps to take sharp and fast photos.

Gamers will appreciate the new HyperEngine MAGT 3.0 technology. This increases gaming by making touch reactions faster and improves switching between 5G and Wi-Fi for online play. The chip supports the high refresh rate display, including WQHD+ resolution on 144Hz and even dual screen setups.

Connectivity side is also very impressive. Dimensity 8450 5G-A (Advanced) 3CC provides speed of up to 5.17 GBPS with carrier aggregation, as well as support for Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.4. It also includes UltraSave 3.0+, which improves battery life during mobile data use.

The chipset supports LPDDR5X RAM up to 8533 Mbps and UFS 4.0 storage, ensuring rapid app loading and smooth multitasking. In this incident, Dr. of MediaTek.
