A Tribute to Greatness

Unveiled in Calangute in late 2021, the statue celebrates Ronaldo’s global impact on football and aims to inspire young Indian talent.

Who Made It Happen?

The initiative was led by Michael Lobo, then MLA of Calangute, to encourage Goan youth toward sports.

It was crafted by local Goan sculptors and supported by the Goa Tourism Department.

Why Goa?

With strong football roots and a Portuguese legacy, Goa shares a special connection with Ronaldo — one of Portugal’s greatest icons.

First of Its Kind

This is the first Cristiano Ronaldo statue in India, weighing nearly 400 kg. A proud landmark for tourists and fans alike.
