Canva has added two new Artificial Intelligence (AI) features to its design platform. These features work in the background so that users cannot see them directly, but they help make canva more powerful. The first feature is a new tool that connects canva to Chatgpt. This allows Chatgpt to answer questions about your Canva projects. For example, you can ask it to "submit our Q1 campaign strategy briefly", and it will look at your canva files to answer. It saves time because you do not need to switch between apps or upload a design.

This only works when the chatgpt is in "deep research" mode, but the good news is that all Chatgpt users can access it without the need for a payment plan. The second feature is something called MCP (Model Reference Protocol) Server. It allows other AI chatbots like Gemini and Cloud to connect to Canva.

This means that you can ask your favorite chatbot to create a design, change the file size or export the project directly from chat. For example, you can tell Gemini "Create a Pitch Deck", and it will begin a canva presentation for you.

Canva says that these tools will help users to function faster and more easily. While the MCP server is now ready, the company has planned to add support for more chatbots like chat and salesforce soon, although they haven't shared the exact date yet. TIll then see you in the next one.
