Not many people know this but iQOO is providing a real tempered glass not just a plastic film for the iQOO 13 and it's being given completely free of cost.

Here's the full story:

I found out through iQOO 13's Telegram group that the iQOO 13's ultrasonic fingerprint scanner doesn't work properly if you install a third-party tempered glass.

This isn't just an iQOO issue. It affects other brands like Samsung,etc. as well since ultrasonic fingerprint sensors are sensitive to the type of glass used. Now,Samsung does provide its own official tempered glass that supports ultrasonic fingerprint sensors but that’s only for models like the S24 Ultra and above.Surprisingly,even the S23 Ultra which also has an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor doesn’t have an official Samsung glass available in India. Plus,Samsung charges separately for their glass while iQOO/Vivo provides it free.

What shocked me:

In that Telegram group, an user mentioned that they got a tempered glass installed at an iQOO service center (SVC). That caught my attention because there was no official confirmation from Vivo about this.

To verify,I contacted three service centers in West Bengal: Asansol, Durgapur, and Kolkata. All of them initially said they were providing only the standard plastic film. Then I contacted SVCs outside Bengal like in Delhi and they confirmed they had tempered glass.

So I raised a query (not a complaint) with iQOO Customer Care asking why there's inconsistency.Some centers offering glass,others plastic. Surprisingly,iQOO initiated an internal investigation.

What happened next surprised me even more:

Within 3 days,I got a call from the Durgapur SVC. They told me that the customer care team had forwarded a complaint against them for providing the plastic film instead of glass. I clarified that I never filed a complaint.

It was just a query. They realized it was a miscommunication.

Then they told me:

"We've received the proper tempered glass now. You can visit to get it installed."

I told them I live in Asansol, not Durgapur. To my surprise, they said they would transfer the glass to the Asansol SVC for me!

Final Experience:

I visited the Asansol service center and got the glass installed absolutely free of cost.The tempered glass is high quality and super smooth.

 Initially, the fingerprint felt a bit slow, but after re-registering my fingerprint, it works perfectly with no delay.

Conclusion:

This is the kind of customer experience no YouTuber ever talks about.I can confidently say that Vivo/iQOO has the best after-sales service in India, even better than brands like Samsung,Apple,etc.

Also the glass is not only smooth and premium but it also protects the front camera which is a huge bonus.
