During Gamescom 2025. With the Natlan era slowly coming to a close, Genshin Impact is setting the stage for the next chapter of the Traveler's journey in Teyvat. Version 6.0 will open the doors of Nod-Krai, an autonomous province of Snezhnaya, and the main setting of the Song of the Welkin Moon.
Unlike earlier regions in Genshin Impact , the developers have implied that the Song of the Welkin Moon will take place over the course of the full year, promising an ambitious take on the Archon Quest formula. While Nod-Krai will come with its own cast of characters, players will already get an early look with Ineffa in Version 5.8, who is set to make her playable debut on July 30.
While beta testing for Version 6.0 will commence in August, Genshin Impact has announced that the new region of Nod-Krai will be showcased at Gamescom 2025. Judging by previous regions, players can reasonably expect to see a trailer or even a teaser for upcoming Genshin Impact characters. Nod-Krai is expected to launch on September 10, while Gamescom itself will last from August 20 until August 24. It should be noted that a trailer for Nod-Krai could even launch two days earlier, on August 18.
Another possibility is that HoYoverse will showcase Miliastra, the upcoming UGC game mode for Genshin Impact. Miliastra will allow players to customize their own character, create their own adventures, and engage with the Genshin Impact community through private and public lobbies. Miliastra is expected to come out during Nod-Krai, and will function as a separate sandbox with its own gacha system.
Whereas Gamescom will be an official showcase for Nod-Krai, Genshin Impact players will have three weeks of beta testing to look forward to after the launch of Version 5.8. Recent leaks hint at Version 6.0 having two 5-Star characters, an Elecfro Male from the Lightkeepers, and a Geo Female from the Frostmoon Scions. With Version 5.8 being packed with Primogems, players should be able to save up enough currency to . However, Nod-Krai is expected to feature powerful lore figures among its cast of characters, names like Durin, Varka, Columbina, and even Alice. Assuming HoYoverse sticks the landing, Genshin Impact may have another strong year ahead.
