आषाढी एकादशी 🙏

Ashadhi Ekadashi, also known as Devshayani Ekadashi, is a sacred day observed on the 11th day of the bright fortnight in the Hindu month of Ashadha (June–July). It marks the beginning of Lord Vishnu’s four-month cosmic rest, known as Chaturmas. Devotees fast, pray, and perform rituals to seek divine blessings as Lord Vishnu is believed to sleep in the cosmic ocean until Prabodhini Ekadashi.

In Maharashtra, this day is deeply connected with the Warkari tradition — a devotional movement over 700 years old. Thousands of Warkaris (devotees of Lord Vitthal) embark on a barefoot pilgrimage called the Pandharpur Wari, carrying palkhis (palanquins) of saints like Sant Tukaram and Sant Dnyaneshwar. Their journey to Pandharpur, filled with chanting, singing abhangs, and community spirit, reflects unwavering devotion, equality, and unity across all sections of society.
