Hey iQOO Fam! 👋

Welcome back to VALORANT INSIDER!

Since many of you might be completely new to Valorant (especially with Valorant Mobile coming soon), I thought we'd kick things off with a simple guide:

“How Valorant Works.”

Let's get into it!

🎮 What Kind of Game is VALORANT?

Valorant is a 5v5 tactical shooter by Riot Games. Think of it as a mix of CS:GO's precise gunplay and Overwatch's unique character abilities.

The core mode is called “Unrated” (or Ranked), where teams fight to either plant or defuse a spike (bomb) across multiple rounds.

🔥 The Goal of Each Round

Figure 3, view larger image
  • Attackers: Plant the spike on a bomb site and defend it until it explodes.
  • Defenders: Stop the attackers, or defuse the spike if it's planted.
  • Win a round either by eliminating all enemies or by achieving the spike objective.

🕑 Rounds & Victory Conditions

  • A match is played in Best of 25 Rounds (first to 13 wins).
  • Teams switch sides after 12 rounds.
  • If it's 12-12, there's Overtime with higher stakes!

💰 The Economy System

Valorant isn't just shooting - it's also managing your money.

  • Every player earns Creds each round based on:

Kills

Spike plants

Round win or loss

  • You use creds to buy:

Weapons

Shields

Abilities

Smart buying decisions can decide matches!

🎯 Agents & Abilities

Unlike pure shooters, Valorant's characters (called Agents) have special abilities:

Agents:

  • Duelist
  • Initiator
  • Sentinel
  • Controller

Abilities:

  • Signature Ability → Free every round.
  • Basic Abilities → Bought like utilities.
  • Ultimate Ability → Charged by kills, spike actions, or orbs.

Example:

  • Jett → Dash around quickly.
  • Sova → Reveal enemies with sonar arrows.
  • Viper → Deploy toxic walls.

Your aim and gunplay still matter the most - but abilities add a creative twist!

🗺️ Maps

Each map has unique layouts, with bomb sites labeled A, B (sometimes C).

Learning callouts (names for places on the map) helps your team communicate fast.

Examples:

  • Ascent → Mid control is crucial.
  • Bind → Has teleporters for fast rotations.
  • Haven → Has 3 bomb sites instead of 2!

🔫 Weapons:

Sidearms, SMGs, Rifles, Snipers, Shotguns, Machine Guns and Melee.

Each has:

  • Different recoil
  • Damage range
  • Fire rate

Popular rifles:

  • Phantom → Low recoil, great for close fights.
  • Vandal → One-tap headshot potential at any range.

⭐ Game Modes (besides Unrated/Ranked)

  • Spike Rush → Shorter, casual matches.
  • Deathmatch → Pure shooting practice.
  • Escalation → Gun-changing chaos.
  • Custom Games → Practice with friends.

These are great ways to warm up or learn maps.

💡 Why It Matters for VALORANT MOBILE

All these fundamentals stay the same in Valorant Mobile!

  • Maps
  • Agents
  • Economy
  • Gunplay

Learning them now = BIG advantage when Mobile drops.

That's a quick crash course on how VALORANT works.
